In Tampa, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Florida vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–4 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (877) 884-8553. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, allstarmanualtransmission.com.

Great place for transmission work. I am a repeat customer and Steve is awesome to work with. This time I was lucky enough to buy when he had the smoker going and I got a rack of some of the best ribs! Thanks Steve!!

Stay AWAY! I called the tech prior to taking my transmission and it was stated he would only charge me for the part and his labor which shouldn't be more than a couple hundred dollars. Based on my knowledge of the work to be done it made sense since the part was approximately $20 and labor was an hour or two. I dropped off the transmission Monday and he was able to convince me that he was qualified based on our conversation and would do fair work for a fair price. Friday morning I called for a status update. He said he had just pulled it apart and that it was indeed the bushing but the part was on back-order and would take a month to get. Instead he was going to swap my tailhousing for one he had there with the correct bushing. I explained that all the serial and part numbers for the 1963 Corvette transmission are on the tailhousing which I wanted to keep original. He tried to convince me otherwise but I told him my preference and he agreed at the end of the call to remove the bushing from the other and put it in my transmission. To be clear this bushing was not new. By 3pm I was getting concerned because this work should not take that long to complete. The tech answered

Steve did an excellent job on my NV3500 5 speed manual transmission for my 95 Chevy C1500 pick up. Got it in, torn down, and built it back up in a short time and I could not be any happier. No leaks and no problems. I highly recommend All Star Update: It has been a year since my transmission was rebuilt and I have not had a single issue. Quality work! Update 2: It’s been 2 years and still running great. Been about 30k miles too.

Initially I was happy with my choice to do business with these folks. The rebuilder Steve seemed knowledgeable and experienced. They had a good inventory of various shelf units ready to go. 1st install of my 6spd ZF transmission made it 3 blocks before it locked up internally. Towed truck back and had to swap out for another unit. The replacement unit made it approximately 3200miles and it broke. We are on our 2nd tow bill and 3rd transmission. Let's hope this 1 stays together. Maybe you will have different results than I experienced?? Good luck

I bought a rebuilt transmission from them in 2018. The transmission had a catastrophic failure after 24,000 miles (not even 2 years later). They only dropped the price by $100 for putting in another transmission. I feel it was unprofessional and unfair business practice to not stand behind their work. We will never use their services again.
